MathsAce Pure Maths is a product that is databased. It is portable and delivered in a CD-ROM format as self installing software. The software sequence is quite typical of a normal windows installation workflow, and is therefore easy to execute for both fundis and newcomers to the computing world. All of grades 8 to 12 are available in one application.

Upon entering the user licence, the user is prompted to enter a name and grade for reporting, tracking, self-assessment and progress monitoring purposes. A menu is then shown of the main topics of the selected grade. The user can then select a topic and sub topics of the selected item will be shown. From that point the user can click on detail items within the sub topic to view detailed tutorial dialogs or can easily go back to the main menu and select other topics.

In detail mode, examples of the concepts being described are available next to each concept heading. Exam type questions are also available in a context environment respective to the current sub item being viewed. Alternatively, the user can choose to go straight to the Examples Area or the Exam Questions Area and browse the material exclusively.

Self assessment is available via tests that are administered by the software. Results are available as reports, which enables the user to be able to track progress in the tutorial.
